How do I manage my Open-Xchange email package?

Open-Xchange email was added to EuroDNS in May 2011, so if you created your email account before this time, please read this article that covers email accounts before May 2011. If not, keep reading and we'll explain it all.

How do I set up my Open-Xchange mailbox?

In order to set up your Open-Xchange mailbox, you first need to subscribe to an Open-Xchange package. To subscribe to an Open-Xchange package, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Log into your EuroDNS account
  2. Enter your Control panel, select Registered Domains
  3. Point the cursor to the domain concerned and click Manage Domain
  4. Click the Discover button, located under the Mail Management (OX) tab
  5. Select the package you would like, depending on your needs: Open-Xchange Starter or Open-Xchange Business. To select your free email you should select the Starter pack, then click Buy Now
  6. In order to use your mail package, the MX records of your domain will be automatically updated to “mx.ecloudpanel.com.” If you prefer to set it manually to “mx.ecloudpanel.com”, tick the box Leave the DNS zone unchanged. I will set it manually myself
  7. Choose your payment method and fill in the required information (not needed if you have chosen the Starter pack)
  8. Please accept our Terms & Conditions, then Place Order​

To create your mailbox, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Under the Control Panel dropdown menu, select Manage Mails
  2. Move the cursor to the domain concerned and click on View Details
  3. Click on Manage
  4. Under Subscription, make sure that the correct domain name is selected
  5. Click on Mailboxes, then Add New Mailbox
  6. Enter the display name of your mailbox
  7. Make sure the Login box in Existing Domain is ticked and enter the name of the mailbox below
  8. Enter and confirm your password, click Next
  9. The recommended settings are already ticked by default. If you don’t want to change anything, you can click on the Next button
  10. Click the Next button again.
  11. Finally, click on Finish to create your mailbox.

How do I check my Open-Xchange mailbox?

To check your emails, you can use two different ways listed below:

Via webmail:

  1. Open the Open-Xchange webmail in your browser
  2. Enter your email address (in the username field) and your password
  3. Finally click on Login to access your emails through your browser

Via an email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) or wireless devices (iPhone, BlackBerry etc.):

Please apply the following settings:

  • POP3 Server     pop3.ecloudpanel.com
  • IMAP Server     imap.ecloudpanel.com
  • SMTP Server     smtp.ecloudpanel.com
All these servers can be accessed using the default port:
  • POP default port or TLS: 110
  • SMTP default port or TLS: 25 or 587
  • IMAP default port or TLS: 143

  • Our outgoing mail server requires authentication.

How do I change the password of my Open-Xchange mailbox?

To change the password of your Open-Xchange mailbox, follow the instructions below:

  1. Under the Control Panel dropdown menu, select Manage Mails
  2. Move the cursor to the domain concerned and click on View Details
  3. Click on Manage
  4. Under Subscription, make sure that the correct domain name is selected
  5. Click on Mailboxes
  6. Click on the display name of the email address that you would like to change the password of
  7. Click on Change Password, then enter the new password and Confirm
  8. Finally, click Submit and your password is changed

How do I renew my Open-Xchange package?

Please keep in mind that you are able to renew your Open-Xchange package just three weeks before its expiration date at the earliest. Five renewal reminders will be sent to your account email address. Please make sure your contact details are up to date.

To renew your Open-Xchange mail subscription, please proceed as follows:

  1. Log into your EuroDNS account
  2. Under the Control Panel dropdown menu, select Manage Mail
  3. Move the cursor to the domain concerned and click on View Details
  4. Click on Renew
  5. Choose your payment method and fill in the required information
  6. Please accept our Terms & Conditions, then Place Order

How do I add additional mailboxes to my Open-Xchange subscription?

EuroDNS give a free mailbox with every domain name, but should you need more you can pay for extra ones too. In order to add additional mailboxes to your Open-Xchange subscription, please follow these steps: 

  1. Log into your EuroDNS account
  2. Under the Control Panel dropdown menu, select Manage Mails
  3. Move the cursor to the domain concerned and click on View Details
  4. Click on the Upgrade button
  5. Select your package: Starter pack or Business pack
  6. Add the number of additional email addresses you would like to purchase and Add to Cart
  7. Choose your payment method and fill in the required information (not needed if you are choosing the free email address)
  8. Please accept our Terms & Conditions, then Place Order

How do I create an email alias for my Open-Xchange mailbox?

An alias is a different name you assign to an existing mailbox, and it’s different from creating a new mailbox. All emails sent to the alias will be received on the associated main mailbox. You can create up to ten aliases per mailbox. To create one, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your EuroDNS account
  2. Under the Control Panel dropdown menu, select Manage Mails
  3. Move the cursor to the domain concerned and click on View Details
  4. Click on the Manage button
  5. Under Subscription, make sure that the correct domain name is selected
  6. Click on Mailboxes
  7. Click on the display name of the email address you want to create an alias for, then select E-mail addresses, click Add 
  8. Enter the alias name and select the related domain name in the dropdown menu
  9. Click on Submit, and your alias is now created, bravo

How do I set up email forwarding for my Open-Xchange mailbox?

Email forwarding allows you to redirect email sent to an email address under your management to another email address. For example redirecting hello@mydomain.com to hello@myotherdomain.com.

Redirecting or forwarding your email messages ensures your receive all your emails in one place and is very easy to set up, just follow the instructions below:
  1. Log into your EuroDNS account
  2. Enter your Control Panel, then select Manage Mails
  3. Tick the domain you wish to configure and click View Details, then Manage
  4. Under Subscription, ensure you have the right domain name selected
  5. Click on Mailboxes, then click the relevant display name
  6. Select the Forwarding tab, then Forward list
  7. Add Forwarding email Addresses
  8. Enter the destination email address and click Submit

You can configure up to five email forwarding per OX subscription. Please contact us if you need more and we can increase to the maximum of 25.

If you subscribed to OX before September 2013, you will need to contact us to activate email forwarding. 

How do I set up catch-all forwarding?

Catch-all email forwarding is just like regular email forwarding, but lets you "catch" and redirect all emails to an email address at your domain. For example, redirecting anything@mydomain.com to hello@mydomain.com.

Catch-all forwarding is easy to set up, and is especially useful for catching emails that are sent with a spelling mistake in the email address. You can combine catch-all forwards with regular email forwards and mailboxes to catch any emails that fall through the gaps. Just follow the instructions below:

  1. Log into your EuroDNS account
  2. Enter your Control Panel, then select Manage Mails
  3. Tick the domain you wish to configure, then click on View Details, then Manage
  4. Under Subscription, ensure you have the right domain name selected
  5. Click on Mailboxes, then click the Catch-All Configuration tab
  6. Click on Edit 
  7. Select the option Forward To address and enter the destination email address, and click Submit

If you subscribed to OX before September 2013, you will need to contact us to activate the catch-all function.
