How do I configure sub-zone delegation?

Last Updated: May 10, 2016 06:17AM CEST

The DNS zone edition page in your EuroDNS account allows you to configure and delegate sub-zones within your domain to other name servers.

Such sub-delegation is configured with NS records:

  1. In your EuroDNS account go to DOMAIN NAMES > ACTIVE.
  2. Move the cursor over the concerned domain and click on Manage on the right.
  3. In the Name Servers section, click on Manage Zone.
  4. Select NS (Name Server for sub-zone delegation) in the dropdown menu: Add DNS Record.
  5. Enter the name of the sub-zone in the host part and the name server in the Name Server part (please don't forget to enter the "." at the end. For example: "ns1.mynameserver.com.")
  6. Confirm the change.
  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the other name servers for the same sub-zone.
  8. Click on Save Changes.
Important: This option is only available if the domain is using EuroDNS name servers (default name servers: ns1.eurodns.com / ns2.eurodns.com / ... or Professional DNS name servers: ns1.prodns.net / ns2.prodns.net / ....).

Note: The new records usually take effect within 24 hours.
